Highly referenced, I've been unable to put this book down. Hilary has meticulously documented her findings in their own medical studies. If you're not connecting the dots already regarding the increasingly common death and destruction of innocent children - this book will go some way. As a parent, I'm realising the time I spent researching prams, nurseries and the like would have been more wisely spent looking into my own health issues pre-baby. What I have read in this book explains many of my own ailments as a child and adult, with thousands of dollars thrown at the issues to fix them, only to experience side effects as well. I certainly understand now that the incredible health my child experiences is no accident and we have done the best possible, blissfully unaware of the dire risks associated with any vaccine. If you're not going to buy this book, please ask your doctor to show you the product information sheet available to the practioner. Read that at the very least before you allow any vaccination.

Hilary's book I really liked, think it might be a good book for mothers just getting their feet wet studying vaccination and getting info from another mothers perspective, one with alot of knowledge on the topic.

good

As a medical doctor, I saw several of my own patients develop severe illness after being vaccinated. Because of being met with so much resistance over what I reported and saw with my own eyes, and had proof with blood tests on these patients, I was compelled to undertake independent research. In my study, I was fortunate enough to locate a used copy of Just A Little Prick, and read it cover to cover with a great thirst. Chapter 3, The Wake Up Call, contains 12 pages of writing I will never forget. Back then I thought Hilary must have been an outlier, with her experience, but since then, I have heard her story, and worse, from enough women to know that the negative experiences I witnessed during my Ob/Gyn rotations in medical school and residency are not rare events. Sadly and at times infuriatingly, I now am certain that the field of Obstetrics does more harm than I ever thought possible. Doctors these days seem to ignore their own textbooks and medical literature in lieu of tradition; harmful tradition. After a child is born, things do not get much better within the realm of conventional medicine and medical policy. When Hilary and Peter were raising children in New Zealand, vaccines were not given at birth and the schedule was not as aggressive as it is today. During the years, they raised their two sons, policy was changing and more vaccines were added to the schedule. Parents were awakening to the many problems in their own children due to vaccination. Hilary was one of a handful of people in the country who seriously looked into the science, and compared it to the policy and the coercive tactics of the health departments, often turning their arguments totally upside down.I am so delighted to see Just A Little Prick back in print, available on Amazon. This book is a gem. It has a little bit of everything; real life stories and experiences, wit and humor, sound scientific support, Hilary's artfully eloquent writing style, Peter's poignant reflections on life with Hilary, on seeing the issues from his own perspective, on policy, and his own humorous and gentle style. The manner in which their chapters are interlaced, keeps some levity to this potentially very heavy topic. This is a book I will always want on my shelf, right next to the sequel, From One Prick To Another.

Amazing in scope, detail and research. The parallels between vaccination in New Zealand and the US are interesting. Oh, and you can download the book for free off the author's website. : )

One of the BEST books I had ever read back when it was first written. Well written and well referenced! I have recommended it to many new parents and am grateful to Hilary Butler for her work.

I love this book, and its sequel From One Prick to Another. I'm American, and found the parallels between the US and New Zealand's official pushing of deadly vaccines and the push-back by ordinary families, vaccine-damaged or not, extremely interesting. The description she gives of a public school campaign to vaccinate all schoolchildren with a meningitis shot not used here was appalling, children reacting immediately with fainting or vomiting, many shortly to be paralyzed. And the officials deny everything. The ineptitude displayed in a diphtheria outbreak in New Zealand twenty years ago, spilled over from that which arose in the shambles of the breakup of the Soviet Union, when many thousands were hungry and cold, and vulnerable to a resurgence of diphtheria, even though most had been appropriately vaccinated. Officials in New Zealand failed to diagnose cases of diphtheria that were present, and diagnosing it when it wasn't present. The level of research is excellent, and whichever disease/vaccine is the subject of the section, the details given as to the mechanics of the damage done by vaccines are extremely impressive. Many case histories from families Hilary has aided are given, some of them heart-breaking in the downward trajectory that followed vaccination, sometimes ending in the death of the vaccinated child. Historical descriptions are given as well, opening a door into other worlds. The author's grandmother nursed many victims of the Spanish influenza in her island home, but did not get it herself, nor did her children. Her list of trial vaccines that were tried out a hundred years ago was interesting, who knew there were vaccines for acne and scarlet fever, and dozens more, that didn't pan out? The numerous descriptions of medical officialdom trying to put her down are humorous, whether it's when she's giving a lecture or participating in a round table, or doing battle with medical personnel pushing her to vaccinate her sons or trying to bulldoze her into agreeing with their incorrect diagnoses. My daughter has autism from an encephalitic reaction to the hep-B vaccine at birth, given without my permission, and when I had told her doctor I didn't want her to get it. Hilary is second to none in her grasp of the horrifying dangers of the hepatitis-B vaccine and the toll it has taken on the helpless children it is inflicted on, for no reason. Hilary gives details about the search in Australia for children who got the disease from casual contact, studies were carried out, but there were NO CHILDREN who got the disease from casual contact, it's all a scam to sell product, who cares if my daughter is damaged for life as a result? The vaccine protection wears off in as little as four years, long before the child is old enough to engage in sex or illegal drugs, the usual modes of transmission. Hilary gives statistics on how many people get the disease (she had it twice), how many recover, and how many eventually get liver disease and die. It's only a tiny fraction of one percent that eventually dies of hep-B, usually those who are drug addicts or alcoholics, whose health is impaired by their addictions. Everyone else eventually recovers. Another scam by Big Pharma, trying to make everyone believe the disease is rampant and a danger to your child. Dr. Sears in The Vaccine Book presents the figures showing that before the vaccine, only an average of 360 children a year were getting it, most from infected mothers, while officialdom jacked the figure up to 30,000 a year with no basis in fact, just to get the lucrative vaccine program going. Even after a congressional hearing in 1999 found that the vax was very dangerous and should absolutely not be given with mercury, they gave it to my daughter in 2000 with mercury and without even asking permission. Hospitals got a bonus for every newborn they vaccinated, so I guess it paid off for them not to even ask permission. Who cares about the permanently damaged newborns? Hilary cares, and thank God for that, I am grateful that she has dedicated her life to publicizing the dangers of vaccines and the evil in the hearts of those who push, push, push them, even knowing the harm they cause. It would be ludicrous how the doctor-puppets are dancing to Big Pharma's tune if it weren't for all the mangled victims they're dancing on. I cannot do justice to the dozens of interesting topics she addresses in her books in a short review, but highly recommend both of them.
