About the Author
John M. Beebe followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming an officer in the U.S. Army. He served in combat in Korea as well as Vietnam before retiring and entering the ministry. Beebe now lives in San Antonio and has begun work on another book of his father’s writing.Stanley L. Falk, former chief historian of the U.S. Air Force, is the author of five books on World War II, including Bataan: The March of Death.

An interesting account. I was surprised by how much better the senior officers were treated as indicated in this book; however, the General may have been leaving the bad stuff out as this account says he was inclined to do and it also may have gotten much worse toward the end after this account stops. From other accounts I have read it was horrible for those of lesser rank from the start. Any student of WWII ought to read this to add another dimension to their knowledge of that war.
This is my great grandfathers journal. I have found the hard copy but never had time to read it. My grandma has one and told me about how brave he was countless times. It's really a amazing book
